It is yet to be seen how the personal connections Rotary members valued previously will be maintained. Even though the "hands looking outwards" mantra is sure to become part of daily routines in our organization, there's no doubt that the feeling of security is growing and more members are making face-to faces connections. Rotary's face has changed. The Rotary network helps build friendships that last. The pandemic served as an impetus for us to take on technological advances. Our practices have been refined to ensure that we have online meetings within our businesses, while reintroducing services and social activities in a face-toface format. We have taken the new possibilities and merged these with our practices to create an optimistic future for Rotary! It's an encouraging thing to hear that 75% of Rotary clubs are planning to carry on their "business regular" actions. In the summer months there have been a lot of Rotary members have been out in public focusing on various tasks, such as beach and river tidy-ups and trash pick-ups. Watch this video 1. It was a pleasure to find out that according to the most recent Rotary survey that 75% of the participants were planning on their regular activities and community projects which were previously useful to communities across Great Britain. The imagination and creativity of our members in finding solutions to many of the most challenging challenges is astounding and I am so thankful that the opportunity to join Rotary was given to me in the year 2002.
